Orlando Urban Film Festival

2024 marks the 11th anniversary of the Orlando Urban Film Festival, whose mission is to celebrate and support filmmakers, artists, and audiences by creating an inclusive space that promotes cultural exchange, artistic expression, and social dialogue. The festival will be held Thursday and Friday, August 28 and 29 and will showcase over 80 films from over 20 countries.

Last year, we honored Emmy award-winning actor, Keith David. This year, we welcome Emmy award-winning actor, Glynn Turman, most recently seen in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rustin, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, for which he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award. Among the many films, we will present “Tiger Run: The Untold Story”, an inspirational film documenting the wildly successful tenure of then Jackson State head football coach, Deion Sanders; “Hammer- Time: Building An Empire”, a behind-the-scenes look at MC Hammer’s rise, fall, and resurgence; as well as the world premiere of “What’s Black About It”, the untold story of the largest black advertising agency in the world, led by Tom Burrell, that changed the face of advertising forever. The festival will be held at the CMX Cinemas Plaza at 155 S. Orange Avenue in Downtown Orlando. For tickets and more information, please visit www.orlandouff.com.
